Myoungkeun Kim joins CSA as tenure-track Assistant Professor of Architecture
Architect Myoungkeun Kim, AIA, NCARB, Founding Principal of , Boston has joined the Cummings School of Architecture as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Architecture, beginning Fall 2024. Kim’s teaching is currently focused on graduate level Integrated Project design studios, and Construction Materials and Assemblies classes, after teaching in first through fifth year design studios at Roger Williams since 2012. Kim’s work at Fish incudes works at Northeastern University Interior Renovation, a historic building façade restoration, single and multiple family housing and live/work projects, and retail projects. Kim’s work has received several awards including the, a finalist for the Boston Society of Architects Design Biennale 2012, and as a Finalist and Honorable Mention for the Competition.
Prior to founding Fish Design and Architecture in 2011, Kim worked for several notable firms in Boston including , , and . His work with Machado & Silvetti included design awards including Maryland AIA Design Award Public Project of the Year 2011, New England AIA Merit Award for Design Excellence 2011, and Boston Society of Architects Honor Awards for Design Excellence Citation 2011. Kim has taught architecture design studios and courses at Roger Williams as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Architecture in 2023/24, and as an adjunct design studio professor at Roger Williams for more than a decade, as well as at . Kim received his Master of Architecture from , and a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from In addition to being a registered architect, he is also a registered contractor in Massachusetts. Kim is a Certifiated Passive House Consultant, CSI Certified Construction Contract Administrator, a Member of the LEED AP and a First Class Engineer/Contractor in Kora.
